How to Unlock a PDF
Remove the password from a PDF that's annoying to open every time. Neither the file nor the password is uploaded — everything runs locally in your browser.
Steps
- Click Choose a PDF and upload the locked file.
- If the PDF asks for a password to open, type that password into Current password.
- If the PDF opens fine but only has permission restrictions (printing, copying), you can leave it blank.
- Press Remove password & download to get a PDF with the password removed.
Good to know
- This tool unlocks PDFs you have the password for. It can't open a PDF whose password you don't know.

All processing happens inside your browser — the PDF and password are never sent to a server.
