How to compress an image

Reduce an image's file size to fit upload limits or speed up your site — without uploading the file anywhere.

Steps

1. Choose an image.
2. Pick a target size (100 KB / 200 KB / 500 KB / 1 MB).
3. Compress & download. The tool binary-searches the JPEG quality to get as close to your target as possible while staying under it, then shows how much smaller the result is.

Output is a JPG. For a fixed 100 KB target with one click, use Compress Image to 100KB.
