How to batch resize images and add a watermark
Editing photos one at a time is fine for one photo. When you have a folder of product shots, event pictures, or blog images that all need to be the same size and carry the same credit, doing it individually is where the afternoon goes. This tool resizes a whole batch to one consistent dimension and stamps an identical watermark — text or a logo — in the same spot on every file, in a single pass. Everything runs in your browser; no image is uploaded, even for a full batch of twenty.
Loading and sizing
Add up to 20 images at once. If you select more, the extras beyond 20 are simply ignored rather than erroring out, and a notice tells you so. The counter reads n/20 as you go, and you can add files in several picks.
Set the longest side from the presets: 256, 512, 800, 1024, 1600, or 2048 pixels (the default is 1024). The tool scales the longest edge to that number and works out the other edge to keep each image's aspect ratio — so a landscape and a portrait photo both come out at, say, 1024 px on their long side, never stretched. Resizing down is close to lossless; picking a size larger than an original just upscales it, which won't add real detail.
Configuring the watermark
Choose Text or Image / logo:
- Text — type your caption or credit and pick a font. It renders as bold white text with a semi-transparent dark outline, so it stays legible over both light and dark areas. The text is sized to roughly 4.5% of each image's height, so it looks proportional whether the photo is 512 px or 2048 px.
- Image / logo — upload a PNG or SVG logo and set its size from 5% to 80% of each image's width. A transparent PNG keeps its transparency over the photo.
Then set the position — one of 9 anchor points (corners, edge midpoints, or center) — and the opacity from 10% to 100% (default 85%). A watermark near an image edge sits inside a small padding margin so it never touches the frame.
Downloading
Hit Resize & download ZIP. On desktop you get one ZIP; each file is named originalname_WIDTHxHEIGHT.png (for example beach_1024x683.png), so the dimensions are visible without opening anything. Output is always PNG. On mobile, where ZIPs are awkward, the images are handed to the system share sheet to save individually.
Your settings are remembered
Your watermark configuration — type, text, font, logo, position, size, opacity, and the longest-side value — is saved in this browser's local storage. Reopen the tool next week and it starts pre-filled, so a recurring job (weekly listings, a photo series) takes two clicks. Change any field and the new value is used and saved. This is per-browser and per-device; it isn't synced anywhere, because nothing leaves your machine.
A note on quality
Because output is PNG, photographs come out lossless but larger than a JPEG would be. If file size matters for the web, run the results through the Image Compressor or Image Converter afterward. And watermarks here are visible deterrents, not tamper-proof protection — anyone can crop or clone one out, so place important marks where cropping would ruin the shot.
Frequently asked questions
- How many images can I process at once, and what happens if I add more than 20?
- The batch is capped at 20 images. If you select more, the files beyond the 20th are silently ignored (a notice tells you so), and the counter shows how many are queued. Add a large folder in smaller sets so nothing gets dropped.
- Why do my resized images come out as PNG instead of their original format?
- Every result is exported as PNG regardless of input, named like photo_1024x683.png with the dimensions in the filename. PNG is lossless, which keeps the watermark crisp, but the files are larger than JPEG. Run the results through the Image Compressor afterward if size matters for the web.
- Does the 'longest side' setting stretch my photos into squares?
- No. It scales only the longest edge to your chosen value (256 to 2048 px) and computes the other edge to preserve each image's original aspect ratio. A portrait and a landscape both end up at that dimension on their long side, with nothing squashed.
- Where are my watermark settings saved, and can anyone else see them?
- They are stored in your browser's local storage on this device only, so the tool reopens pre-filled for repeat jobs. Nothing is uploaded or synced. Clearing your browser data, or opening the tool on another device, resets everything to defaults.
- Can I use a transparent logo as the watermark?
- Yes. Upload a PNG or SVG with transparency and it stamps cleanly over the photo. Set its size from 5% to 80% of each image's width and its opacity from 10% to 100% (default 85%) to control how prominent it looks.
- Is a text watermark here enough to stop people stealing my images?
- It is a visible deterrent, not tamper-proof protection, since anyone can crop or clone it out. For images that matter, place the mark across the center of the subject where removing it would ruin the shot, rather than in an easily trimmed corner.
Privacy
All 20 images are processed locally in a loop in your browser, including the watermark stamp — nothing is uploaded, even for a full batch.
